Elizabeth Strickland Meade

Elizabeth Strickland Meade, age 70 of Paris, TN, died Monday, October 12, 2020, at AHC of Paris.

She formerly worked as a bookkeeper at Emerson Electric in Paris, before becoming a caregiver. Elizabeth was a member of Madison Church of Christ in Madison, TN. She enjoyed arts and crafts and reading. Elizabeth loved being with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Elizabeth was born December 31, 1949, in Paris, TN, to the late James William Ball and to the late Mattie Pearl Miller Ball.

She was married January 12, 1996, to John Mead, Jr., who survives, of Paris, TN.

Along with her husband she is survived by two sons, Tommy Strickland of Nashville, TN, and Brian Strickland of Camden, TN; two sisters, Shirley Cole of Paris, TN, and Vernie (Jerry) Barnhill of Paris, TN; one grandchild, Hailey (Lucas Ingram) Strickland of Puryear, TN; two great grandchildren, Jaedyn Golden of Puryear, TN, and Emerie Ingram of Puryear, TN.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Lou Chamness and Margaret Owen.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street/PO Box 788, Paris, TN 38242.  The body is to be cremated. A graveside memorial service will be held Saturday, October 17, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery in Paris, TN, with Brandon Chamness officiating.

Burial of cremains will follow the service in Oak Hill Cemetery.
