Our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Elaine Timmons Harris, of Prince George, Virginia, went home to be with her Lord, on November 21, 2015.
She was born to James Otis and Lillie Josephine Timmons on February 22, 1926, in Henry County, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Lake Elroy Harris and by her son, Paul Kenneth Harris.
She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Karen Harris of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; daughters, Barbara (Les) Cabrinha of Prince George, Virginia, and Linda (Tim) Stephenson of Salt Lake City, Utah; and by her son, Leonard (Colleen) Harris, of Lees Summit, Missouri; as well by eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
For forty-eight years, Elaine lived in St. Louis, Missouri where, in addition to raising her family with her husband, she worked as an accountant at a local firm. After retirement, she returned with Elroy to live in Paris, Tennessee. Following his death, she moved to Prince George, Virginia, where she brightened the lives of all those around her. Elaine was a remarkable woman --- intelligent, kind, and generous. She lived her life with grace and dignity, with her family and the Lord as the most important aspects of her life. We will miss her dearly, but she leaves us with such warm and cherished memories.
