Edgar "Ed" Singleton

Corporal Edgar “Ed” Singleton, age 82 of Paris, TN, died Thursday July 13, 2017, at the VA Hospital in Nashville, TN.
He was a Korean War Veteran, having served with the 3rd Infantry Division of the United States Army.
Born November 14, 1934, he was the eighth of thirteen children of the late Joseph and the late Mary A. “Bessie” Warmack Singleton.
He was married November 14, 1981, to the former Adele Carla Duncan Jones, who survives, of Paris, TN.
A retired carpenter by trade, he enjoyed working on antique cars, gardening, his family – especially the children and his morning coffee at McDonald’s.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Eddie Gene Singleton.
Along with his wife, he is survived by three sons, Tony L. Singleton of Fresno, California, David E. Singleton of Almo, KY, and Bobby J. (Rebecca) Singleton of Puryear, TN; a step-son, Michael S. Graves of Jackson, TN; a step daughter, Theresa A. “Traci” Jones of Paris, TN; 10 grandchildren: Savannah L. Walters of Benton, IL, Morgan M. Singleton of Fresno, CA, Jordyn T. Singleton of Charlottesville, VA, David J. “Jordan” Singleton of Almo, KY, Jessica M. (Leighanne) Biggs of Paris, TN, Amelia G. Singleton of Puryear, TN, Matthew W. (Amber Larson) Jones, Stephanie L. Farmer, Mary A. (Austin Willoughby) Jones and Joseph W. Jones all of Paris, TN; eight great grandchildren, Anthony, Zoey and Macy Elliott of Benton, IL, Kendall G. Singleton and Karter E. Singleton of Clarksville, TN, Mason S. Farmer and Gauge L. Farmer of Paris, TN, and Bryleigh E. Scott of Paris, TN; and special friends Thomas Tharpe and Chris Olvera.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, TN, where visitation will be Sunday, July 16, 2017 from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm, and continue Monday, July 17, 2017, from 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm. The funeral service to celebrate his life will be Monday, July 17, 2017, at 2:00 pm at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home with Dwight Turner officiating.
Pallbearers will be David Jordan Singleton, Chris Olvera, Ronnie Singleton, and Ron Singleton, Larry Pettenger, and Matthew Jones.
Burial will follow in Poplar Grove Cemetery in Springville, TN.
