Ed Tayloe

Edmund Palmer “Ed” Tayloe, Jr., age 85, of Paris, died Friday, January 20, 2023, at his residence.

Ed was the former owner and operator of Tayloe Hancock Glass Company. Ed summed up his passions in life in a quote when he sold the business and retired, “I’ve put in 47 years, I’m ready to get out, I’m ready to retire- hunt and fish and play golf for the rest of my life.” He also enjoyed Tennessee Volunteers football games. He loved his time spent with his friends and hunting buddies. When he and his wife moved to town several years ago, they bought their current home in its location so that he could sit on the front porch and wave to all his friends. Ed was a member of First Baptist Church and its Friendship Sunday School Class.

Born July 8, 1937, in Paris, Ed was the son of the late Edmund Palmer Tayloe, Sr., and the late Mae Clendenin Tayloe.

He married Treva Kee Tayloe in 1985, who survives of Paris.

In addition to his wife of 37 years, additional survivors include two sons, Bruce (Lenora) Pinson, and Mike Pinson, both of Paris; a sister, Marilee (Chuck) Bullock of Paris; three grandchildren, Caleb (Sarah) Pinson, Katelyn Pinson , both of Chattanooga, and Sidney Pinson of Paris; and a great granddaughter, Conley Pinson.

Ridgeway Funeral Home 201 Dunlap St./P.O. Box 788, Paris, TN 38242, will be handling the services. Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at Ridgeway Funeral Home from 4 to 7 pm. A celebration of Ed’s life will be held Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at 7pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home, with Jimmy Williams and Mike Wimberley officiating. Dr. Buddy Gardner will share of Ed’s love for friends and hunting.

His hunting buddies will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Cremation will follow the service.
