James Dwight Foust, age 78 of Paris, passed away Saturday, May 13, 2023, at his residence.
Dwight was born August 4, 1944, in Henry, TN to the late Herbert Eugene Foust and the late Edith Bailey Foust.
He retired from Dana Corporation as a supervisor in production. He was a former assistant plant manager at Celotex in Paris. Dwight was a board member of the Paris VFW. He loved football, especially the Tennessee Titans and any sport in general. He was a pop warner football coach, a little league baseball coach and softball coach. Dwight was very social and competitive. He also enjoyed playing cornhole.
He is survived by two children; Christopher Dwight Foust of Clarksville, TN, and Dana (Greg) Scott of Paris, TN; three sisters, Genivieve (Fred) Thompson of Murray, KY, Patsy Kemp of Paris, TN, and Betty Sturgill also of Paris; two grandchildren, Justice (Cody) Parrish and Haley (Michael) Courcelle; three step-grandchildren, Amber Scott, Carson Scott, and Chandler Scott; four great grandchildren, Waylon, Emmy, Ayla, and Hogan.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Sarah Jeanette Foust and Martha Geraldine “Gerri” Kendall.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St./P.O. Box 788, Paris, TN 38242. Visitation will be at Ridgeway Funeral Home on Thursday, May 18, 2023, from 11 am – 2 pm. His funeral service will be held Thursday, May 18, 2023, at Ridgeway Funeral Home with Gerald Scott officiating.
Serving as pallbearers will be Dustie Graves, Carl Tanner, Cody Parrish, Michael Courcelle, Chandler Scott, and Carson Scott.
Burial with military honors will follow the service at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
