Doug Steele

John Douglas Steele age 65 of Paris, died Thursday, June 10, 2021, at the St. Thomas West Hospital in Nashville.

Doug was a truck driver for the Henry County Highway Department, where he was employed for over 20 years. He enjoyed collecting knives, watching Westerns, and just being at home.

Born December 4, 1955, in Paris, he was the son of the late John Thomas “J.T.” Steele and the late Winona Adams Steele.

He was married in 1977 to Judith Lynn Warren Steele, who survives of Paris.

Along with his wife Lynn, Doug is survived by his two children, Ashley Jo Steele, and John Michael Steele, both of Paris: a sister, Sue (Rex) Carter of Paris, a brother, Bobby Gene (Linda) Steele of Puryear, and a grandson, John Allen Steele of Camp Lejeune, NC.

In addition to his parents, a brother, Dan Steele, preceded him in death.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St/P.O. Box 788, Paris, TN 38242.  Memorial visitation will be Friday, June 18, 2021, from 1:00 – 2:00 pm at New Hope Baptist Church, 1380 Clifty Rd., Paris, TN 38242.  The memorial service will be Friday, June 18, 2021, at 2:00 pm at New Hope Baptist Church with Glynn Orr officiating.
