Dorothy “Dottie” Swisher, age 88, of Paris, Tenn., died Wednesday, February 24, 2016, at McKenzie Healthcare in McKenzie, Tenn.
She was a member of Mansfield Baptist Church and was a homemaker. Dottie enjoyed knitting and was her husband Red Swisher's Biggest fan, following him many places in his country music playing. She was also a regular at Friday Night Blues Club in Paris.
Dottie was born December 13, 1927 in Mansfield, TN to the late Walter "Pappy" Chandler and the late Lucy Johnson Chandler.
Dottie was married on June 27, 1953 to Forest "Red" Swisher Sr. and he preceded in death June 6, 2014. She is survived by her two Sons, Dan (Susan) Baker of McKenzie, Tenn, and Forest "Sonny" Swisher, Jr. of Lerna, Ill; three Step Daughters, Linda Darlene Daughhetee of Casey, Ill, Patricia Rose Simpson of Charleston, Ill, and Donna Marie Mitchell of San Antonio, Texas; two Brothers, Roy Chandler of Louisville, Ky, and Bobby (Martha) Chandler of Mansfield, Tenn; 14 Grandchildren; 23 Great Grandchildren; and 2 Great Great Grandchildren.
Besides her Husband and Parents, Dottie was also preceded in death by Brothers, Delbert Chandler, Woodrow Chandler, Johnny Chandler, and Willy Chandler.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St., Paris, Tenn., where the visitation will be from 11 am – 12 pm Friday, February 26, 2016. The service will be Graveside at Mansfield Baptist Cemetery at 12:30 pm Friday, February 26, 2016.
Gerry Gallimore will officiate. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Interment will be at Mansfield Baptist Church Cem. in Mansfield, Tenn.
