Dorothy “Dot” Olive Souther, age 93, of Huntingdon, Tenn, formerly of Paris died Tuesday, August 30, 2016, at Jackson Madison Co. Gen. Hosp. in Jackson, Tenn.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Paris, TN for more than 55 years where she was active in youth work and the Noon Circle Group. She retired from Holley Carburetor Plant in Paris, TN after over 35 years. She was formerly active in the Order of Eastern Star and she was a member of Henry County Medical Center Ladies Auxiliary for more than 20 years with over 5000 hours of service. She loved her Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren and enjoyed growing flowers and traveling. She always lived by the Golden Rule, with her motto in life being "Do unto others as you would have others do unto you."
Dot was born March 26, 1923 in Vale, TN to the late Laurence Peale and the late Bertha Lowe Peale.
She was first married to Curtis Olive and he preceded in death, then she married Raymond Souther and he preceded in death.
She is survived by her one Daughter, Carol Laurence (Greg) Noll of Leesburg, Ind; 2 stepdaughters Sandy Souther and Pat Young; a stepson Billy Souther; one Brother, Joe Lowe of Paris, Tenn; Sister-In-laws, Lois Peale and Imadell Peale of Paris, TN, and Ada Ruth Olive of Sevierville, TN; Brother-In-Law, Bill Dunn of Paris, TN; Grandchildren, Lauren (Tia) Byington-Noll of Cambridge, MA, Audrey (Cameron) Shawver of North Las Vegas, NV; Great Grandchildren, Madalyn Shawver, Charlotte Shawver, and Annabelle Shawver; Several Nieces and Nephews; and Best Friend, AI Sellers of Huntingdon, TN.
Besides her Parents and Husbands, Dot was also preceded in death by step-son Dan Souther; Sisters, Gladys Easley, Thera Kemp, and Ruth Dunn; and Brothers, Howard Peale and Billy Peale.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, Tenn, where the visitation will be from 12 – 2 pm Saturday, September 3, 2016. The Funeral Service will be at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home at 2:00 pm Saturday, September 3, 2016 with Dr. Robert D. Martin of First United Methodist Church officiating.
Pallbearers will be Don Peale, Milton Peale, Jerry Peale, Randy Peale, and Bryant Peale. Jeff Underwood is named as an Honorary Pallbearer.
Interment will be at Johnson Chapel Cemetery in Paris, Tenn.
