Dorothy Mae Wyatt

Dorothy Mae Wyatt, age 83 of Puryear, TN, died Saturday, June 17, 2023, at Henry County Healthcare Center in Paris, TN.

She was a home maker and a member of Cuba Baptist Church in Cuba, KY.  Dorothy enjoyed gardening and loved her family dearly.

Dorothy was born March 22, 1940, to the late John W. “J.W.” Glisson and the late Vera Mae Collins Glisson.

She was married April 15, 1957, to Maurice R. Wyatt, who preceded her in death on June 4, 1986.

She is survived by two daughters, Cathy Cathey McDermott (Kerry) of Puryear, TN, and Melinda (Terry) Wells of Puryear, TN; one sister; one brother; two grandchildren, Amy (Hans) Mayer, and Ashley Hays; and two great grandchildren, Daphne Mayer and Julien Mayer.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street/PO Box 788, Paris, TN 38242.  Visitation will be Monday, June 19, 2023, from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home, and continue Tuesday, June 20, 2023, from 9:00 am – 11:00 am.  The funeral service will be Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at 11:00 am at Ridgeway Funeral Home, with Bro. Andrew Clapp officiating.  

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Burial will be in Story Chapel Cemetery in Hazel, KY.
