Doris Owens

Doris M. Owens, age 83, of Paris, Tenn., died Saturday, May 24, 2014, at her residence.

She married Bobby Joe Owens Sept. 10, 1955, who survives. She was a member of Temple Baptist where she had been very active in church work, including teaching Sunday School. She was a homemaker.

She was the daughter of the late Marvin Poole and the late Mattie Adams Poole.

She is also survived by a daughter Lynn Douglass of Paris, Tenn., three sons : Wyatt (Cindy) Owens of Buchanan, Tenn., David (Jeanna) Owens of Paris, Tenn. & Dan (Tammy) Owens of Paris, Tenn.; Grandchildren: Jill (Mike) Snow, Alan (Jennifer) Douglass, Angie (Curtis) Sullivan, Jeremy (Tiffany) Douglass, Brent, Brad, Adam & Nathan Owens; 4 great grandchildren: Ethan Fitzgerald, Abigail Black, Heidi Owens & William Sullivan.

Mrs. Owens also leaves two nieces Faye (Sonny) Walker of Raleigh, N.C., &  Debbie (Harry) Cashwell of Goldsboro, N.C.

Besides her parents she was also preceded in death by a sister: Mary Elizabeth Poole Catlette, a brother in infancy: Joseph Alton Poole & a son in law Donald Douglass.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St. - P.O. Box 788, Paris, Tenn., where the family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM Tuesday, May 27, 2014.Her funeral service will be Graveside at Hillcrest Memorial Park at 10:00 AM Wednesday, May 28, 2014, with Dr. Trent Bullock officiating.  Interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Paris, Tenn.
