Doris Neal

Doris Evelyn Neal, age 83 of Buchanan, TN, died Wednesday, December 20, 2017, at Henry County Healthcare Center in Paris, TN.

She retired from R.S. Owens in Chicago, IL, where she assisted in the making of the official Oscar awards.  She formerly worked at Bruce-Warrer in Buchanan, TN.  She loved her grandchildren and her animals, and enjoyed gardening.

Doris was born April 22, 1934, in Huntsville, AL to the late Ernest Northcutt and the late Jessie Stewart Takaoka.

She was married December 3, 1950, to Grady Nolen Neal, who survives, of Buchanan, TN.

Along with her husband, she is also survived by four children, Debbie (Harold) Charles of Buchanan, TN, Patsy (Mark) Kiefer of Chicago, IL, Lois (Robert) Palmer of Buchanan, TN, and Vicki (Walter) Miranda of Wauconda, IL; two sisters, Linda Shaiman of Venice Beach, FL, and Jerry Smetak of Venice Beach, FL; one brother, Wayne Northcutt of Moore, OK; eight grandchildren, Mark Kiefer, Jr., Kristin Murphy, Joey Charles, Lucas Palmer, Samuel Palmer, Taylor Miranda, Sydney Miranda, Lexi Miranda; four great grandchildren, Peyton Charles, Stephen Kiefer, Owen Kiefer, Virgil Palmer, and one on the way.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by two brothers, Bobby Northcutt and Joel Northcutt.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, TN, where visitation will be Saturday, December 23, 2017, from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm, with the funeral service beginning at 1:00 pm at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home, with Chad Kennedy officiating.

Serving as pallbearers will be Robert Palmer, Harold Charles, Walter Miranda, Mark Kiefer, Joey Charles, and Samuel Palmer.

Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery in Paris, TN.
