Doris Jean Applegate, age 79, of Paris, Tenn., passed away Wednesday, October 28, 2015, at Henry County Healthcare Center in Paris, Tenn.
She was a member of Fairview Baptist Church and enjoyed flea markets and antiquing. She was a Volunteer worker at the Rescue Mission in Clinton, Iowa for several years. She enjoyed music and singing and sang in a Gospel Quartet for several years. She also led the singing at Henry County Healthcare for several years.
She was born October 15, 1936 in Cheney’s Grove, IL to the late Clarence Retter who died before her birth, and the late Katherine Nadine Cameron Baker and Step-Father, the late Clifford Baker who raised her.
She was married on August 1, 1953 to Carl Applegate Jr. and he survives.
Doris is also survived by her Four Daughters, Carla (Dennis) Hammerschmidt of Decatur, IL, Debra (Larry) Titsworth of Branson, Mo, Cathleen Robertson of Decatur, Ill, Kimberly Freburg of Paris, Tenn; Two Sons, Chad (Lindsey) Tucker of Paris, Tenn, Nathan (Amanda) Tucker of Jackson, Tenn; One Sister, Rosalie (Robert) Wright of Ohio; Two Brothers, Steve (Glenda) Baker of Oklahoma, David (Barb) Baker of Missouri; 14 Grandchildren, and 30 Great Grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a Daughter, Pamela Tucker.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St., Paris, Tenn.
She will be cremated. A Celebration of Life will be held at Tennessee Valley Community Church From 2 - 4 pm Sunday November 8, 2015.
