Doris Anstey of Paris, died July 5, 2016, following a short illness. She was born in Medina, NY, January 6, 1928, the daughter of Herbert and Dorothy Schaal, who predecease her, along with brothers, Kenneth, Norman, Victor, and sister, Catherine.
Mrs. Anstey graduated salutatorian of the Medina High School class of 1945. On August 25, 1945, she married Norman Anstey. Together they made their home and raised their family in Medina, NY, before moving to Paris in 1977. Family was held most dear; she is survived and loved by her children, Cynthia (Richard) Hellert, Brian (Pamela Bloom), Brad (Pamela Tuohey) and Douglas (Celinda Keech); adored by seven grandchildren, Todd (Katia) Hellert, Kimberly (Matthew) Hinderegger, Jennifer (Patrick) Leiting, Brian Anstey II, Blair (Andrew) Klco, Mitchell (Natalie) Anstey, Tara (Rusty) Parker; ten great grandchildren, Jake, Paige, Luke, Andrew, Michaela, Alexandra, Della, Grey, Micah and Noah.
Mrs. Anstey was a woman of many talents. Her exquisite paintings are cherished by her family and many friends in Paris; her knitted and crocheted sweaters, baby blankets, and afghans have been treasured gifts for many, knowing that every stitch was a labor of love.
Funeral arrangements are with Ridgeway. A celebration of life will be held at the Puryear Baptist Church on Thursday, July 7th at 3 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Puryear Baptist Church, Puryear, TN.
