Don "Smooth" Green Sr.

Don “Smooth” Green, Sr., age 83, of Paris, Tenn., died Monday, July 18, 2016, at Henry County Medical Center in Paris, Tenn.

Don began his love of golf  at an early age while working as a caddy in Humboldt, TN.   He was a former miner in Colorado for 12 years and also worked as Route Salesman for White Company and Dollar Amusement Co. for several years.   Don served in the National Guard for 8 years.   He was a lifelong avid golfer, with 3 hole-in-ones, with 1 of them coming at age 80.    He had been a Paris Country Club member since 1976.

He was born May 23, 1933 in Humboldt, TN to the late Idus Martin Green and the late Fannie Lorine Kolwyck Green.  He was raised by his step-mother, Annie B. Kolwyck Green after the death of his mother.

He is survived by his four Daughters,  Stephanie Green & Special Friend Dale Russell of Springville, Tenn, Jodie (Brian) Matthews of Huntingdon, Tenn,  Donna (Paul) Dupree of Humboldt, Tenn, and Jennifer (Michael) Cook of Spring Hill, Tenn;  two Sons,  Donald "Buddy" (Debbie) Green, Jr. of Puryear, Tenn, and Jason (Brittney) Green of Camden, Tenn;  one Step Brother,  Bob Kolwyck of Germantown, TN;  12 Grandchildren, Rachel Stigall, Jerry Stone,  Brian Patterson, Amanda Patterson, Andrew Dupree, Dena Bell, Olivia Cook, Lilah Cook, Zane Green, Amber Boone, Heather Tharpe, and Ellee Green; and 17 Great Grandchildren.

Besides his Parents and Step Mother, he was also preceded in death by a Daughter, Dena Delisa Green; a Brother, Jerry Thomas Green and a Grandchild Easton Lee Green.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St., Paris, Tenn., where the visitation will be from 4 – 8 pm Saturday, July 23, 2016 and from 1 – 3 pm Sunday, July 24, 2016.   The  Funeral Service will be at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home at 3:00 pm Sunday, July 24, 2016.  Larry Hollingsworth will officiate.    Pallbearers will be Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren, and all of his golfing buddies are to be Honorary Pallbearers.

Interment will be at Rose Lawn Memory Garden in Paris, Tenn.
