Don L. Peale

March 27, 1949 — August 13, 2019

Don L. Peale, age 70 of Paris, TN, died Tuesday, August 13, 2019, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN.

He retired first from UPS after 30 years, and later from the State of Tennessee at Paris Landing State Park after eight years.  He was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Paris.  Don was a member of the Paris Masonic Lodge 108 and the Paris Elks Lodge for 51 years.  He was a lifetime member of the Henry County Jaycees, holding several positions, including general manager of the World’s Biggest Fish Fry.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, yard sales, and auctions.

Don was born March 27, 1949, in Paris, TN, to the late Howard Lyndle Peale and Imadell Phillips Peale, who survives, of Paris, TN.

He was married November 22, 1968, to his wife of 50 years, Anita Cox Peale, who survives, of Paris, TN.

Along with his mother and wife, he is also survived by one daughter, Andrea (Jeremy) Lemonds of Paris, TN; one son, Michael Rhea (Lindsey) Peale of Broken Arrow, OK; two sisters, Diana Goss of New Johnsonville, TN, and Angie (Mike) Hall of Paris, TN; one brother, Jerry (Terri) Peale of Paris, TN; and three grandchildren, Emily Lemonds, Preston Peale, and Eva Lemonds.

In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by one brother, Tommy Lowe.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, TN, where visitation will be Thursday, August 15, 2019, from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm.  Visitation will continue Friday, August 16, 2019, from 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm at First Baptist Church, 313 N. Poplar Street, Paris, TN 38242.  The funeral service will be Friday, August 16, 2019, at 2:00 pm at First Baptist Church, with Jerry Massey, Larry Simmons, Todd Henson, and Trent Bullock officiating.

Pallbearers will be Jack Tarkington, Jimmy Veazey, Randy Prince, Roger Veazey, Scott Berryman, and Terry Williams.  Named as honorary pallbearers are the members of the Cullen Sunday school class of FBC Paris, UPS drivers, and David Webb.

Burial will be in Johnson Chapel Cemetery in Paris, TN.
