Donald Kapellen

Donald Norbert Kapellen, age 80 of Buchanan, TN, died Monday, July 5, 2021, at West TN Healthcare Volunteer Hospital in Martin, TN.

Donald formerly worked as a carpenter, then for Xerox in Oak Brook, IL for 30 years, before retiring from Villa Park School District 45 in Villa Park, IL. He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church. He enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, gardening, wood working, and setting puzzles.

He was born December 6, 1940, in Merrill, WI, to the late Walter Kapellen and the late Leona Torsch Kapellen.

Donald was married on October 9, 1965, to Delores Ann Brandt Kapellen who survives of Buchanan, TN.

Along with his wife, he is survived by two children, Diane (Donald) Bungato of Lorton, VA, and Daniel (girlfriend Patty Langridge) Kapellen of Villa Park, IL; and two grandchildren, Jonathon Bungato, and Megan Bungato.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Alice Kraimer, and Elsie Kapellen; one brother, Marvin Kapellen; and several sisters and brothers-in-laws.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St/PO Box 788, Paris, TN 38242. Visitation will be held Thursday, July 8, 2021 from 9 – 11 am at Holy Cross Catholic Church. The Funeral Mass will be Thursday, July 8, 2021, at 11:00 am at Holy Cross Catholic Church with Rev. Martin Orjianioke officiating.

Serving as pallbearers will be Daniel Kapellen, Bill Weston, Donald Bungato, Jonathon Bungato, and Danny Williams.

A graveside service will be Friday, July 9, 2021, at 2:00 pm at Calvary Cemetery, in Steger, IL.
