Don Carlton

Don Stephen Carlton, age 68 of Puryear, TN, died Thursday, June 4, 2020, at Henry County Medical Center in Paris, TN.

He was a 20-year U.S. Army veteran, retiring as a Chief Warrant Officer 2.  During his time in the military, Don served two tours in Korea, one tour in Germany, and in Desert Storm.  After serving his country proudly and faithfully, he retired to a quiet life in Tennessee.

Don was born December 18, 1951, in Detroit, MI, to the late Don Earl Carlton and the late Wavel Junealaska Bailey Cook.

He was married to Jeanie Carlton, who preceded him in death on May 4, 2017.

He is survived by his two daughters, Stephanie (Danny) Henson of Sierra Vista, AZ, and Chelsea (Shane) Crawford of Lubbock, TX; one sister, Debbie (Bubba) Torrance of Milan, TN; one half-sister, Rita (Butch) Crowder of Dover, TN; one brother, Jeff Carlton of Atlanta, GA; seven grandchildren, Ciara Carlton, Chaelynn Roe, Payzlea Baumann, Casen Henson, Emma Henson, Kynleigh Boggs, and Kree Smith; and several other extended family members.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by one daughter, Drew Carlton; one sister, Connie Peevyhouse; and one brother, Mark Carlton.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, TN.  The body is to be cremated.  A graveside service will be held Sunday, June 14, 2020, at 2:00 pm at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Trenton, TN, with Jess Hedges officiating.

Burial of cremains will follow the graveside service in Walnut Grove Cemetery.
