Dolores "Dee" J Tatum

Dolores J. Tatum, “Dee”, age 82, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2024 at Alden Estates in Naperville, IL. Dolores Tatum was married to Coy Tatum for 50 years before his death in January 2013, they were married Sept. 15, 1962.  Born July 22, 1941, in Chicago, she was the daughter of Joseph and Josephine Bulin, now both deceased. For the past year, Dolores Tatum resided in Plainfield, IL and previously loved living the past 35 years in Springville TN, after she moved from Romeoville, IL.

Dolores was a graduate of Kelly High School in Chicago and worked outside the home at various times in secretarial / clerical positions in various fields. First and foremost she was mom to her 3 children.  While living in TN she was a member of Springville Baptist Church. She enjoyed baking and spending time with her grandchildren.

She leaves two daughters, Lynn (Joseph) Lockwood of Plainfield, IL and Lisa (Daniel) Richardson of Aurora, Il and one son, Robert Tatum and finance Diane Farris of Channahon, IL; her two bothers Tom Bulin of Oswego, (the late Judy); Rich (June) Bulin of Auburndale, WI; her five grandchildren, Ryan Lockwood, Nicholas Gaile, Bryan Richardson, Lexi (Randy) Gordon and Deanna Farris and four great-grandchildren, Gracelynn Gaile, Vinny Gordon, Gia Gordon and Randy Gordon, Jr..

She was also preceded in death by her sister, Patricia Kroll, and a grandchild, Dylan Richardson.

In lieu of flowers, donations should be given to the donor’s favorite charity.

Private family services will be held. Overman-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Plainfield, IL was entrusted with arrangements. 

A private graveside service with burial will take place at Poplar Grove Cemetery, Springville, TN.  Local arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home.
