Diana Clement

Diana Smith Clement passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2016, in Jackson, TN and will be laid to rest on Wednesday, August 3rd, at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Mansfield, TN.

Born May 8, 1930, in Springville, TN, to the late Johnie Thomas and Juliet Doty Smith. She grew up in a large family and learned to cook and sew at an early age. On November 24, 1949, she married the late Edward “E.G.” Clement. They were married 64 years until his passing in June of 2015.

Ms. Clement retired from the TDOT after 25 years of service in 1999. She was a member of the Northside United Methodist Church in Jackson, TN, and belonged to the Order of the Eastern Star.

She had a servant’s heart and humble spirit. She welcomed everyone into her home and made sure no one left hungry. Her true passions were music and her family. She will be remembered as being so content with the simple things in life such as having picnics, watching sunsets, and taking an evening stroll down the street. Diana will be greatly missed.

She is preceded in death by her husband Edward; two sisters: Ann Mathis and Jeanette Reese; and two brothers: John Smith and Lucian Smith.

She is survived by three sons: James “Jim” Dale (Connie) Clement, Thomas “Tommy” Edward Clement, and Gerald Wayne Clement, all of Jackson. Her grandchildren: Jenny (Brandon) Koebernick, Julie (Brent) Price, Lee Clement, Ashley (Troy) Coleman, Sara (Lynn) Luedecke, Catherine (Will) Weddington and Emily Clement; and 7 great grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters: Barbara Muzzall and Marilyn Townsend; and five sister-in-laws: Crystel Smith, Catherine Pafford, Virginia Clendenin, June Rawls, and Ann Smith.

Visitation will begin at 11am at Ridgeway Funeral Home in Paris, TN, with a graveside service to follow at 12:30pm, at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Mansfield, TN. Her grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
