Former vinyl siding contractor Dale Elwood Jackman, 80,
of Buchanan died Thursday, March 28, 2013, at Henry County
Healthcare Center.
His body was cremated.
No service or visitation is planned. Burial is planned later in
a military cemetery in Iowa. Ridgeway Funeral Home handled
arrangements.
Born Aug. 2, 1932, in Estherville, Ohio, he was a son of the late
Lyle F. and Dorothy Wells Jackman.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and a member
of AMVETS Post 45 and American Legion Post 89, both west
of Paris Landing. He lived most of his life in Des Moines, Iowa,
before retiring to Buchanan.
He leaves two sisters: Mary Jackman and husband Richard
Haire of Omaha, Neb., and Lola (Jerry) McKnight of Norwalk,
Iowa; three brothers: Fay (Lynda) Jackman of Cedar Rapids,
Iowa, Gerald (Barbara) Jackman of San Diego and Phillip (Francine)
Jackman of Johnston, Iowa; several nieces and nephews;
and several special friends.
