Bob Ellis, 80, of Paris, TN, passed away on June 21, 2014.
Bobby M. Ellis was born June 12, 1934 in rural Springfield, Tennessee, the son of Herschel and Alma Nichols Ellis. Bob graduated from Clarksville High School in 1952. He attended the University of Tennessee prior to entering the Air Force as an Aviation Cadet.
Bob retired from the Air Force with the rank of Colonel in 1982. His final assignment was Director of Maintenance for the Ogden Air Logistics Center. After retiring from the Air Force, Bob was an advisor to the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Taiwan. He later went to work for McDonnell Douglas as a Program Manager and retired from there in 1996, at which time he moved to Paris, TN.
Bob is survived by his wife, Kathleen; sons William (Susan) and James (Tara); stepson Jesse Whitnall; grandchildren Shannon, Connor, and Colleen Ellis and Jessie and Alexis McIntyre; sister Bettye (Bill) Lord and their children, Patrick, Darlene, and William. He was preceded in death by his son, Phillip, and his parents.
Visitation will be Thursday, June 26 from 1-3 PM at Ridgeway Funeral Home, Paris, TN with a prayer service at 3 PM. Funeral services and burial will be at Arlington National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Henry County Medical Center Hospice, 311 E. Wood St., Paris, TN 38242.
