Coby Charles Cope, age 81, of Mansfield, TN, died Thursday, May 25, 2017, at his residence in Mansfield, TN.
Coby was an operating engineer for Fort Myer Construction in Washington, D.C. He was a member of the International Operators Union and a U.S. Army veteran, during the Korean Conflict.
Coby was born in Harlan, KY on July 31, 1935, to the late Ephraim Tyler “E.T.” Cope, and the late Nelly Moore Cope.
He was married December 19, 1960, to Sally E. Welton Cope, who survives, of Mansfield, TN. Along with his wife, he is also survived by one daughter, Cynthia Lynn Cope of Mansfield, TN; one son, Ray Charles (Kathleen) Cope of Covington, TN; five grandchildren, Lonnie (Tiffany) Tucker, Ben Tucker, Lauren (Jason) Steeg, Steven Cope, and Mark Cope; four great grandchildren, Knox Tucker, Alison Tucker, Cole Steeg, and Clint Steeg.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by three sisters, Pauline Flanary, Mary Marcum, and Rose Cope; and three brothers, John Junior Cope, Starling Cope, and Willie Cope.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, TN, where visitation will be Monday May 29, 2017, from 9:00 – 11:00 am., with the funeral service at 11:00 am at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home with Bro. Johnny Farmer officiating.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Burial will follow in Henry County Tabernacle Cemetery.
