Christine Hurst

Christine Hurst, age 89 of Paris, TN, died Wednesday, February 28, 2018, at Henry County Medical Center in Paris, TN.

She retired after many years as an electrical engineer from Industrial Engineering & Equipment Company in St. Louis, MO.  She was a member of First Baptist Church in Paris, where she was an active member of the LLL group.  She was also involved in the Red Hat Society.

Christine was born November 26, 1928, in West Port, TN, to the late Lonnie Gray Edwards and the late Erda Hammett Edwards.

She was married December 25, 1945, to Paul Hurst, who preceded her in death on May 17, 1998.

She is survived by one son, Gerald Hurst of Smyrna, GA; one sister-in-law, Hope Edwards of Humboldt, TN; one grandson, Ean Strobel of Denver, CO; and longtime friend, Muriel Norwood of Paris, TN.

Along with her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by one daughter, Geraldine Hurst; one brother, James William Edwards; and one grandchild in infancy, Shannon Hurst.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, TN, where visitation will be Saturday, March 3, 2018, from 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home, with the funeral service beginning at 2:00 pm at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home, with Dr. Trent Bullock officiating.

Serving as pallbearers will be men of First Baptist Church of Paris.

Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Memory Garden in Paris, TN.
