Chloe Bell York, age 90 of Paris, TN, died Sunday, June 28, 2020, in Indiana.
She was a homemaker who loved being at home and lived a simple life. Chloe was a collector of many things and liked flowers. She enjoyed flea marketing and yard sales. She was a Christian who was strong in her faith.
Chloe was born August 16, 1929, in Paris, TN, to the late Earl Toler and the late Verbal Melton Toler.
She was married March 21, 1946, to her first husband, Homer Lee “Sam” Bowden, who preceded her in death. She was then married September 20, 1968, to her second husband, James A. York, who preceded her in death in 2002.
She is survived by one daughter, Tammy (Keith) Dougherty of Oklahoma; two sons, Billy (Elly Carol) Bowden of Missouri and Michael (Wendi) York of Indiana; one sister, Carolyn Carter of Mansfield, TN; six grandchildren, Jacob York, Logan York, Jeff Bowden, Brian Bowden and Lessa Marrs; and several great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Earl Lee Bowden; three sisters; Edna Sue Mortensen, Claire Nell Lankford and Claudine Frenseley; one brother, “Little” Earl Toler; and one grandchild, Julie Bowden.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, TN. Visitation will be Thursday, July 2, 2020, from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Thursday, July 2, 2020, at 2:00 pm at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home, with Brian Wimberley officiating.
Family & friends will serve as pallbearers.
Burial will be in Bevil Cemetery in Paris, TN
