Cheryl Lynn Johnson

Cheryl Lynn Johnson, age 71 of Paris, TN, died Sunday, June 27, 2021, at Saint Thomas West Hospital in Nashville, TN.

She retired from Henry County Nursing Home after 29 years as an LPN.  She graduated from Lake Orion High School in Lake Orion, MI, then went on to graduate from Oakland University in Rochester, MI as an RMA Practitioner I. She was Baptist by belief.  Cheryl loved swimming in her pool, reading, gardening, making candy and jams, and fishing.  She enjoyed loving and spoiling her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She had a servant’s heart and was a wonderful caretaker of everyone she met.  In short, Cheryl enjoyed life to the fullest.

Cheryl was born November 12, 1949, in Pontiac, MI, to the late Carl Hotchkiss and the late Haroldean Hayes Hotchkiss.

She was married August 1, 1995, to Ronald Carl “Ron” Johnson, Sr., who survives, of Paris.

Along with her husband, she is also survived by one daughter, Karen Johnson of Paris; one son, Ronald Carl “Little Ronnie” Johnson, II of Paris; one sister, Chris (Robert) Jefferson of Gunnison, UT; one brother, Bradley (Penny) Hotchkiss of Jacksonville, FL; three grandchildren, Jillian Barnes, Karlie (Greg Clark) Barnes, Brance (Holly Flood) Bierly; six great grandchildren, Khloie Sipes, Carter Sipes, Connor Sipes, Maddox Clark, Miles Clark, and Milo Clark; her Shih Tzu, King Louie Carl Johnson; special friends, Sudie P. Johnson, Carol Karasek, Linda Prater, Ashley Prater, and Mona Cleghorn; and all of her nursing co-workers and game playing friends.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St/PO Box 788, Paris, TN 38242.  Visitation will be Wednesday, June 30, 2021, from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home, and continue Thursday, July 1, 2021, from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm.  The funeral service with a nurses’ final farewell will be Thursday, July 1, 2021, at 1:00 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home, with Craig Peevyhouse and Jerry Parsons officiating.

Serving as pallbearers will be Brance Bierly, Ronnie Johnson, Greg Clark, Justin Tillman, Jeff Johnson, and Robert Jefferson.  Named as honorary pallbearers will be her great grandchildren, Khloie, Maddox, Carter, Miles, Milo, and Connor.

Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery in Paris, TN.
