Cheryl Leah Kinder, age 80 of Springville, TN, died Sunday, March 31, 2024, at her residence.
She retired after many years with Meijer where she worked in the distribution center. Cheryl enjoyed fishing, painting, cruises, traveling, and going to the casinos. She was Catholic by faith.
Cheryl was born June 19, 1943, in Grand Rapids, MI, to the late Clarence Van Akkeren and the late Valerie “Mary” Hornyak Van Akkeren.
She was married August 27, 1985, to Edward George “Ed” Kinder, who survives, of Springville, TN.
Along with her husband, she is also survived by her daughter, Shonda Piehl of Springville, TN; two sisters, Arlene Obetts of Rockford, MI, and Dorothy “Dot” Hager of Jenison, MI; and two nephews, Dan (Elizabeth) Hager & family, and Don (Amy) Hager & family.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by two brothers-in-law, Edward Obetts and David J. Hager.
Visitation will be Thursday, April 11, 2024, from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm & 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm, and Friday, April 12, 2024, from 10:00 am – 11:00 am at Pederson Funeral Home, 127 N Monroe Street, Rockford, MI 49341. The funeral service will be Friday, April 12, 2024, at 11:00 am at Pederson Funeral Home with Deacon Jim Hessler officiating.
A graveside committal service & burial will take place Monday, April 15, 2024, at Rosedale Memorial Park, 50 Lake Michigan Drive NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49534.
