Charles Edward Lamb, age 85 of Paris, TN, died Monday, August 27, 2018, at Henry County Medical Center in Paris, TN.
Charles served in the Tennessee Army National Guard. He also owned and operated several grocery stores in Weakley and Henry Counties and worked as a cabinet maker for several years. Charles was an ordained Baptist minister and a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. He volunteered as a chaplain with Henry County Medical Center Hospice for several years. He enjoyed gardening and UT and Tennessee Titans football.
Charles was born June 7, 1933, in Dresden, TN, to the late Wallace Olan Lamb and the late Ruby Mae Palmer Lamb.
Charles was married on December 28, 1952, to Geneva Perry Lamb, who preceded him in death on February 2, 2005
He is survived by one daughter, Teresa Nanney of Paris, TN; and one daughter-in-law, Jeanne Lamb of Paris, TN; four grandchildren, Josh Gallimore, Travis (Emily) Lamb, Tyler (Elizabeth) Lamb, and Dane Nanney; four great grandchildren, McKenna Gallimore, Charlie Lamb, Patrick Lamb, and Joyce Elizabeth Lamb.
Along with his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by one son, Charles Michael “Mike” Lamb; and one son-in-law, Steve Nanney.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, TN, where visitation will be Thursday, August 30, 2018, from 12:00 pm – 3:00 pm with the funeral service beginning at 3:00 pm at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home, with Randy Stephens officiating.
Pallbearers will be Travis Lamb, Jackie Lamb, Eddie Turner, Dale O’Daniel, Jerry Burcham, and Dane Nanney. Charles Yanders is named as an honorary pallbearer.
Burial will be in Rose Lawn Memory Garden in Paris, TN.
