Charles E. Paschall

Charles E. Paschall, age 98 of Puryear, TN, died Friday, September 25, 2020, at Anna Mae Owens Hospice House in Murray, KY.

He was a lifelong farmer and a U.S. Army WWII veteran.  Charles was the oldest member of North Fork Baptist Church in Puryear, TN, where he had been since 1936 serving as a deacon, Sunday school teacher, and treasurer for 17 years.  He was a member of the board of directors for Farmers Bank & Trust where he served as vice-president.  He was also a member of the Marshall Masonic Lodge # 109 in Cottage Grove, TN, since 1951, where he was the oldest living member.

Charles was born May 24, 1922, in Puryear, TN, to the late Homer Paschall and the late Katy Hays Paschall.

He was married July 25, 1942, to Carlene Stephens Paschall, who preceded him in death.

He is survived by one son, Charles “Butch” (Sondra) Paschall of Puryear, TN; six grandchildren, Kerry (Pam) Paschall, Kimmi (Paul) Hayes, Pamela (Steve) DeLuca, Stephen Pistilli, Matt (Rena) Whitford, and Josh (Flor) Whitford; and several great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by two daughters, Charlene Hays Whitford and Judy Pistilli; two sisters, Jane Bonneau and Marguerite “Marg” Carty; and one half-sister, Jerri Sue Paschall.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street/PO Box 788, Paris, TN 38242.  Visitation will be Sunday, September 27, 2020, from 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home, with the funeral service beginning at 2:00 pm at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home, with Malcolm Norton and Jerry Massey officiating.

Serving as pallbearers will be Kenny Jenkins, Scott Wyrick, Benji Bona, Allen McDougal, James Eddy, and Sid Hutson.  Named as honorary pallbearers are Tilman Paschall and Doug Wilson.

Burial with military honors and masonic rites will be in Walker Cemetery in Paris, TN.
