Charles Lee “Charlie” Allen, age 68 of Paris, TN, died Friday, June 30, 2017, at his Residence.
Charlie graduated from E.W. Grove High School in 1968. He then attended Bethel College for 2 ½ years. After Bethel he went to UT Martin for a year. He had previously worked as a stocker at Kroger for ten years and was a former announcer for WTPR, WFWL and WKTA. Retiring as a Corporal, Charlie worked 31 years and 8 months as the communication supervisor at the Paris Police Dept. He formerly owned and operated Confidential Investigators of TN for 25 years and formerly owned a paging and cell phone dealership. His hobbies included photography and working with and on ham radios.
Born April 12, 1949, in Paris, TN, he was the son of the late William Carl Allen and the late Annie Lee Raines Allen.
Charlie is survived by one daughter Charity (Josh) Butler of Jackson, TN; and one grandchild, Averlee Butler of Jackson, TN; one great nephew, J. Michael (Laura) French of Springville TN; and one niece, Susan French of Paris, TN.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his four brothers: Joe Don Allen, Jimmy Allen, Richard Ronald Allen and John Thomas Allen.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, TN, where visitation will be on Sunday, July 2, 2017, from 4 – 7 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home and on Monday, July 3, 2017, from 2 pm – 4 pm at Sulphur Well Church. The funeral service will be at 4:00 pm Monday, July 3, 2017, at Sulphur Well Church with Randy Stephens and Bob Palmer officiating.
Pallbearers will be Jason Carter, Jeremy Douglass, Tom Cate, Dickie Bomar, Garrett Sinclair, and Russell Matheny. Honorary pallbearers will be Gary Pinson, RT Miller, Jr., and members of FOP Lodge #17.
