Charles L. Dade IV, age 85 of Paris, TN died Monday, October 21, 2024, at Charter Assisted Living in Paris.
Charlie retired after working as a truck driver for 40 years. Several of those years he spent team driving with his wife, Barbara. He was a decorated Green Beret Army veteran serving in the Vietnam War. Charlie enjoyed fishing, bird watching, history, especially military history, the West, reading, talking to others, but most of all, loving his wife and family.
He married Barbara Jean Oller Dade December 10, 1978, who survives of Paris.
Born October 3, 1939, in Hopkinsville, KY, he was the son of the late Charles Langhorne Dade, and the late Patricia Irene Eckardt Dade.
Along with is his wife of 46 years, he is also survived by three children, Cynthia L. (Joe) Woosley of Abingdon, VA, James (Kathy) Paulin of Denison, TX, and Joe (Megan) Paulin of Louisville, KY; twin sisters, Sandall (Tom) Tyrel of Louisville, and Terry Dade of GA; a brother, John S. (Sally) Dade of The Villages, FL; six grandchildren, Jake Steelnack, Jessica Paulin, Jeremy Steelnack, Brandon Paulin, Alexis Paulin, and Maddie Beck; eleven great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Ridgeway Funeral Home 201 Dunlap St./P.O. Box 788, Paris, TN 38242, will be handling the arrangements. Visitation will be held Thursday, October 24, 2024, from 4 until 6 pm with his funeral service to follow at 6 pm. A graveside service with military honors will be held Friday, October 25, 2024, at 1 pm the Dade Family Cemetery 8190 Julien Road in the Church Hill Community near Hopkinsville, KY.
Burial will follow in the Dade Family Cemetery.
