Charles Edward Cooper, age 79, of Paris, Tenn., died Thursday, January 7, 2016, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn.
He was born January 16, 1936, in Huntingdon, Tenn., to the late Ira Cooper and the late Ada Estelle Cooper.
He was married September 3, 1980 to Gloria Haddock, his wife of 35 years, who survives. He was a member of Enon Baptist Church in McKenzie, TN. He retired from Dana Corporation and formerly worked at Gaines Manufacturing & Replogle Enterprises.
Along with his wife, he is also survived by a son, Patrick (Stephanie) Cooper of Paris, Tenn.; step-son, Albert (Michelle) Vassar of Paris, Tenn.; two step-daughters, Rosemary Lane & friend Dennis Hoofman of Paris, Tenn.; and Linda Vassar of Henderson, Tenn.; five grandchildren: Craig Puckett, Mariah Hill, Joseph Brunzel, Kayla Vassar & friend Gerald Moore, & Dylan (Emma) Lane.; and five great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Barlow and Margaret Cooper; and one brother, James Cooper.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St. - P.O. Box 788, Paris, Tenn., where visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM Saturday, January 9, 2016, and from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM Sunday, January 10, 2016. The funeral service will be at LeDon Chapel Ridgeway Funeral Home at 2:00 PM Sunday, January 10, 2016.
Wray Forrest will officiate.
Interment will be at Pilgrims Rest Cemetery in Christmasville, Tenn.
