Charles Edward Capps, age 70 of Murray, KY, died Tuesday, February 11, 2020, at his residence.
He retired after many years as a school bus driver for the Calloway County School System in Murray, KY. Charles loved his children and grandchildren and enjoyed cowboy action shooting. He was a non-denominational Christian who was very strong in his faith.
Charles was born November 11, 1949, in Paris, TN, to the late Lawrence Capps and the late Laverne Pace Capps.
He was married September 3, 2005, to Jackie Rogers Capps, who survives, of Murray, KY.
Along with his wife, he is also survived by two daughters, Lori (Richard) Pond of Paris, TN, and Carrie (Art) Smith of Paris, TN; two brothers, David “Pete” (Delois) Capps of Paris, TN, and Johnny Wayne Capps of Paris, TN; five grandchildren, Clint Mobley, Chris Pond, Rachel Pond, Alyson Smith, and Colin Smith; and one great grandchild, Cameron Mobley.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one sister, Betty Capps Haddock.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St., Paris, TN 38242. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 18, 2020, from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home, with the funeral service beginning at 12:00 pm at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home, with Matt Hopkins officiating.
Serving as pallbearers will be Chris Pond, Randall Dick, Anthony Lawrence, Frank Sirabella, Tommy Futrell, and Richard Burkeen. Named as honorary pallbearers are Clint Mobley, Rachel Pond, Cameron Mobley, Alyson Smith, Colin Smith.
Burial will be in Shady Grove Cemetery in Paris, TN.
