Charles J. “Buddy” Forsythe, age 80, longtime Buchanan resident, passed away Thursday, January 9, 2025.
Buddy graduated from Buchanan High School in 1961. He retired from Midland Brake after working over 50 years in quality control. He was a longtime member of Sulphur Well Church of Christ and was currently attending Vandyke Church of Christ. Buddy enjoyed his cattle and horses and dearly loved his grandchildren.
He was born July 7, 1944, in Springville, TN to the late Charles Edward “Charlie” Forsythe and the late Pauline Adams Forsythe.
Buddy was married for 62 years to Doris James Forsythe. They married on December 1, 1962.
Besides his wife, Buddy is also survived by one daughter, Kim (Monty) Dodge of Columbia, MO; two sons, Chris (April) Forsythe of Murray, KY, and Andy (Kelly) Forsythe of Greenfield, TN; one sister, Martha Jo Houston of Paris, TN; nine grandchildren, Amanda DuBois, Blake Cox, Houston (Megan) Forsythe, Zach (Layla) Forsythe, Sayde Hindelang, Connor Kelley, Taylor Hindelang, Nick Brown, and Layton Brown; three great grandchildren, Mikali Mounts, Casey Mounts, and Phillip Forsythe; and one uncle, Jerry (Venie) Forsythe of Henderson, TN.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, TN. Visitation will be at Ridgeway Funeral Home on Sunday, January 12, 2025, from 10 am – 2 pm. The funeral service will be Sunday at 2:00 pm with Randy Stephens officiating. Cremation will follow the service.
Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers, and all Midland Brake/Setco employees are named as honorary pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to ABLE Farms 5566 Elkhorn Nobles Road Springville, TN 38256.
