Carolyn Joyce Ellison, age 67 of Buchanan, TN, died Friday November 11, 2016 at her residence in Buchanan, TN.
She retired from Buchanan and Lakewood Schools where she worked in the cafeteria and she was a member of the Buchanan Sewing Circle.
Carolyn was born on May 22, 1949 in Chicago, IL, daughter of the late Johnnie Willis Whitworth and the late Dorotha Francis Rowlett Whitworth.
She married Jr. Ellison on August 28, 1978 he preceded her in death on June 14, 2006.
She is survived by two daughters, Jessica (Chris) Thompson of Buchanan, TN, and Lorie (Kyle) Nash of Cottage Grove, TN; one sister, Sheri (Fred) Vanderpool of Buchanan, TN; four grandchildren, Amber Nash, Carlie Thompson, Kylie Nash, and Mason Thompson; one local aunt, Jean Martin of Buchanan, TN; nephews, Kevin Vanderpool, Jordan Vanderpool, Dawson Vanderpool, and several other nieces and nephews; and best friend, Johnnie Bickerstaff of Buchanan, TN.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St. Paris, TN. The visitation is scheduled for Monday November 14, 2016 from 10:30 am - 12:30 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm Monday November 14, 2016 at Bethel Cemetery in Buchanan, TN with Ed Smith officiating.
Pallbearers will be Hughlette King, Rick Ellison, Bill Dewees, and Danny Smith. Jerry Bickerstaff, Harold Charles and Dennis Littrell are named as honorary pallbearers.
