Carol H. Wichlan, age 83 of Paris, TN, died Tuesday, May 14, 2019, at Henry County Medical Center.
She was born April 9, 1936, to the late Kenneth A. Hobbs and the late Helen C. Oberbeck Hobbs.
Carol was married on October 3, 1959, to Felix “Phil” Wichlan who survives of Paris, TN.
She moved to Paris in 1964 with her husband Phil and their children. Carol retired in 2006 after 24 years as administrative secretary at Holy Cross Catholic Church. She was also a Parish religious education teacher, Past President of Holy Cross Altar Society, and a sponsor in RCIA Program. She enjoyed painting landscapes, following her children and grandchildren in their activities, and brightening other people’s days by sending greeting cards for birthdays, sicknesses and to shut-ins. She also enjoyed typing and working with her husband in his activities at church, Henry County Medical Center and lots of other organizations. She truly enjoyed making her husband “Look Good”.
Along with her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Debbie (Bill) Jelks of Paris, TN; four sons, David (Kim) Wichlan of Chapel Hill, NC, Kevin (Patricia) Wichlan of Collierville, TN, Michael (Denise) Wichlan of Hoover, AL, and Kenneth (Katriana) Wichlan of Norfolk, VA; eight grandchildren, Will (Caitlin) Jelks, Andrew Jelks, Ben Jelks, Maddie Wichlan, Baylee Wichlan, Timothy Richardson, Andrew Richardson and Michael (Jamie) Richardson; and three great grandchildren, McKinley Wichlan, Mason Richardson, and Ivy Richardson.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, TN. Visitation will be Thursday, May 16, 2019 from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home with Rosary beginning at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue on Friday, May 17, 2019, from 9:00 am – 10:30 am at Ridgeway Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 am Friday at Holy Cross Catholic Church, with Rev. Martin Orjianioke and Rev. David L. Wichlan officiating.
Pallbearers will be Will Jelks, Andrew Jelks, Ben Jelks, Glenn Blanton, Paul Plowman, Gary McEntire, and Andy Fazzini.
Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery in Paris, TN.
