Burl Donald Mahan, age 85, of Paris, Tenn., died Monday, November 9, 2015, at his residence in Paris, Tenn.
Burl was a 1949 Graduate of Burdette High School in Burdette, AR and served as the Class President. He served in the US Army from 1954-1956 during the Korean War. He lived in Tunica, MS for several years where he formerly owned and operated the Mahan Grocery. He was a Member of Buchanan United Methodist Church and was a Lifelong farmer who enjoyed fishing, being outdoors, farming and spending time with his family and drinking coffee in the mornings with friends.
He was born in Cotton Plant, AR October 3, 1930 to the late David Ralph Mahan and the late Katie Maloy Mahan.
Burl was married on March 10, 1951 to Vivian Jones Mahan and she survives. He is also survived by his Two Sons, Carter Mahan of Buchanan, Tenn and David Mahan of Buchanan, Tenn.
Besides his parents, Burl was also preceded in death by a Son, Kevin Mahan; Twin Brother, Jearl Mahan and Two other Brothers, Billy Carol Mahan and Jerry Mahan
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St., Paris, Tenn.
Visitation will be at Buchanan United Methodist Church from 10 – 11 am Wednesday, November 11, 2015 with the Funeral Service at 11:00 am Wednesday at the Church.
Rev. Latricia Trull and Rev. Bennie Akers will officiate. Pallbearers will be Joel Wyatt, Thomas Thompson, Phillip Walker, Victor Zakrajsek, Patrick Mahan and Todd Mahan.
Burial will follow in Walker Cemetery in Paris, Tenn.
