Retired school teacher Thomas Bryan Morris, 82, of Buchanan died Thursday, July 18, 2013, at Paris Health Care Center.
His wife, Cathy Crutcher Morris, survives. They were married on Nov. 22, 1953.
His funeral will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Buchanan United Methodist Church, where he was a member.
The Rev. Latricia Trull will officiate. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery at Buchanan.
Chosen as pallbearers are Ricky Weatherford, Ed Wheatley, Fred Patterson, Buddy Gardner, Tommy Scarbrough, Harold Sykes, Keith Chilcutt and Victor Baldwin.
Men of Buchanan United Methodist Church will be honorary pallbearers.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. today at Ridgeway Funeral Home and after 2 p.m. Saturday at the church.
Born July 19, 1930, in Buchanan, he was the son of the late Robert Bryan and Luna Salmon Morris.
Morris retired after teaching in school for 30 years in Springfield, Ill. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran. His wife said he enjoyed fishing, hunting, gospel music, telling stories, spending time with people and singing in the church choir.
He also leaves one daughter: Karen (Ron) Freemon of Huntsville, Ala.; one son: Jeff (Jennifer) Morris of Buchanan; one sister: Bobbie Ann Futrell of Murray; two grandchildren: Kaitlin Freemon of Huntsville and Chad (Ginger) Baldwin of Brentwood; and two great-grandchildren: Jones and Sela Baldwin.
A sister, Carlene Wimberley, also preceded him in death.
