Bobby Gene Collier

Bobby Gene Collier, age 88 of Springville, TN, died Monday, February 22, 2021, at Henry County Medical Center in Paris.

He retired after many years as a boilermaker.  He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the Boilermakers Union Local 69.  Bobby enjoyed gardening, rebuilding cars, and mechanic work.  He loved the Lord.  He attended North Stewart Pentecostal Church of God in Dover, TN.

Bobby was born May 13, 1932, in Fulton, KY, to the late Ezra Avery Collier and the late Fondye L. Austin Kemp.

He was married August 6, 1949, to Mamie Smith Collier, who preceded him in death on March 10, 2017.

He is survived by his two daughters, Donna Hillard of Buchanan, TN, and Robin (Jeff) Miles of Palm Desert, CA; his three sons, Terry Gene (Dora) Collier of Erin, TN, Jerry (Judy) Collier of Erin, TN, Glenn (Brandi) Collier of Paris; one sister, Margie Tansett of Hendersonville, TN; 13 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by his stepmother, Ruby Wade Collier; one son-in-law, Fines Hillard; one sister, Frances Harris; one brother, David Collier; and two grandchildren, Jason Collier and Tiffany Spring Collier.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St/PO Box 788, Paris, TN 38242.  Visitation will be Thursday, February 25, 2021, from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home, and continue Friday, February 26, 2021, from 11:00 am-1:00 pm.  The funeral service will be Friday, February 26, 2021, at 1:00 pm at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home, with Joe Page officiating.

Grandsons and great grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Burial will be in West Wood Pentecostal Church of God Cemetery in Paris.
