Bobbie J. Atkins

Bobbie J. Atkins, age 83 of Paris, Tennessee went to meet his Lord and Savior, Monday, October 24, 2023, at his home.

Bob served in the United States Air Force from 1959-1963 in Minot, North Dakota.  After serving in the military, he moved his family to Memphis, Tennessee.  He retired from Central States and Southwest in 1995 after 30 years of excellent service.  After retirement he moved to Paris, Tennessee where he resided until he passed.  His hobbies included golf, fishing, and watching the St. Louis Cardinals play baseball.

He was a faithful member of the Church of God of Prophecy for over 50 years.   He served with humble leadership and a quiet spirit, touching all he came in contact with.

He is preceded in death by the love of his life for 62 years, Joann Johnson Atkins. Together they had three children whom he loved unconditionally, Ronnie Atkins, Linda Crowder (Randy), and Cindy Fain (Joe) all of Paris, Tenneseee.  He had five grandchildren, Matt Crowder (Ruthie) of Cleveland, TN, Tracie Smith (Chad) of Wahalla, SC, Caleb Fain (Annie) soon to be of Paris, TN, Hunter Crowder of Franklin, TN, and David Fain of Paris, TN; and eight great grandchildren, Jeremiah Crowder, JB Bailey, Will Bailey, Brie Smith, Paisley Smith, Rian Smith, and Brinley Fain.  He is preceded in death by a great grandson, Reid Smith.  He is also survived by three sisters he adored, Mary Beck, Beverly Hand, and Bonnie Rinehart; and many nieces and nephews.

He is also preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Nellie Atkins; and his three brothers Cecil Atkins, Leroy Atkins, Jim Atkins.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street, Paris, TN 38242.  Visitation will be Saturday, October 28, 2023, from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at Paris Church of God of Prophecy, 4088 Hwy 218 Bypass, Paris, TN 38242, with the funeral service beginning at 1:00 pm at Paris Church of God of Prophecy, with Everett Holloway and Chad Smith officiating. 

Serving as pallbearers will be Matt Crowder, Jeremiah Crowder, J.B. Bailey, Caleb Fain, David Fain, and Hunter Crowder. 

Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery in Paris, TN.
