Bobbie Jean Hedges Parker, age 88 of Paris, TN, died Monday, September 2, 2019, at the Pigeon Forge Care & Rehabilitation Center in Pigeon Forge, TN, from the effects of a stroke.
She was a longtime insurance agent, starting her career with Allstate Insurance Company in 1965 and continued until her retirement there after 40 years of service. In 2005, Bobbie became a sales associate with White & Associates Insurance Wimberley Agency in Paris and worked there until her retirement on May 26, 2016. She enjoyed gardening, working in her flowers, and spent a lifetime helping and caring for others. She was a faithful member of First United Methodist Church in Paris.
Bobbie was born May 26, 1931, in Paris, TN, to the late F.H. “Homer” Hedges and the late Olie M. Peery Hedges.
She is survived by her three children, John (Patricia) Austin of Sevierville, TN, Kathryn Austin (Mike) Wimberley of Paris, TN and Paducah, KY, and Howard (Cindy) Parker of Manchester, TN; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; special friends Tommy Wimberley and Mickey Patton, both of Paris, TN.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brother, Dr. Fred M. Hedges; and a grandson, Eric Parker.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home in Paris, TN. A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 16, 2019, at 1:00 pm at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home, with Tommy Wimberley and Brian Wimberley officiating.
A private interment of cremains will be held at a later date.
