Robert Bradley “Bob” Holland, age 64 of Buchanan, TN, died Sunday, November 26, 2017. His earthly spirit quietly slipped from his grasp to our Heavenly Father while he was at home with family members.
He graduated from Fulton County KY High School and then from Georgia Institute of Technology with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nuclear Science in 1975. In 1979 he opened Holland’s Printing Service in Paris where he worked for many years fulfilling the printing needs of all his cherished customers until the business sold. During the last several years he served with much pleasure as a substitute teacher with both Henry County and Paris Special School Districts where he was rewarded by helping all the students he met. He enjoyed the outdoors, was an avid gardener, and enjoyed spending time with friends and learning from children. He never feared a challenge and was a mechanical problem solver for friends and family for years.
Bob was born July 30, 1953 in Richland, GA to the late Robert Bradley Holland, Sr. and the late Betty Joyce Mayo Holland. He was the second child born to this union.
He is survived by his sisters, Nona Holland and Rebecca “Becky” Overcast both of Buchanan, TN; and one brother, Paul Holland of Hernando MS. Other survivors include two nieces, Amie (Jamie) Moore and Heather Holland; two nephews, Timothy Overcast and Matthew (Hannah) Holland; two great-nephews, Thomas Bradley Moore and Houston Lee Moore; one great-niece, Rebeka Ann Moore; one aunt; two uncles; and several cousins in Georgia, Texas, Colorado, Virginia, North Carolina and Florida.
Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by his grandparents, aunts and uncles.
A memorial gathering to honor his life will be held Sunday, December 10, 2017, from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm at the Paris Civic Center, 650 Volunteer Drive # A, Paris, TN 38242.
