Billy Ray Turner, age 77 of Paris, TN, died Thursday, May 16, 2019, in Paris, TN.
He was the owner & operator of Turner’s Painting & Construction for over 45 years. He formerly worked as the maintenance director for Lee School in Paris. Bill loved his family and enjoyed restoring old cars and listening to gospel music. Those who knew him best said he was very generous, had the biggest heart for helping others, and was always willing to do anything for anyone.
Bill was born November 24, 1941, in Dyersburg, TN, to the late James William Turner and the late Ruby Jean Moony Turner.
He was married February 20, 1979, Barbara Jean Lambert Turner, who preceded him in death on November 14, 2015.
He is survived by two daughters, Casey Turner Bates of Paris, TN, and Rae Jean Turner of Newbern, TN; three sons, Aaron Turner of Marion, GA, and Gage Turner of Newbern, TN, and Jeremy Taylor of Paris, TN; one sister, Dorothy Cravens of Newbern, TN; and eight grandchildren, Brad Bates of Paris, TN, Chelsey Bates of Cottage Grove, TN, Madison Bates of Cottage Grove, TN, Megan Bates of Cottage Grove, TN, Curtis Birmingham of Jackson, TN, Tyler Birmingham of Jackson, TN, Andrew Perdue of Newbern, TN, and Drew Saylor of Paris, TN.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, TN. Visitation will be Sunday, May 19, 2019 from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home, with cremation to follow the visitation.
