Billy Joe Nance, age 80, of Paris, TN, died Thursday, May 11, 2017 at his residence.
Billy was a member of Paris Community of Christ. He retired after many years as a toolmaker. He formerly worked at Spinks Clay Company, and Southside Machine and Tool, and then retired from Turner Machine and Design. He loved working on old cars, tractors, and gardening. He was also a member of the antique tractor club in Henry County and was also a U.S. Army Veteran.
Born June 6, 1936 in Cottage Grove, TN, he was the son of the late Roy Carr Nance and the late Celia Ann Call Nance.
Billy married Linda Lemonds Nance of Paris, TN on December 27, 1956, and she survives, along with three sons, Randy (Kim) Nance of Springfield, KY, Kenny Nance of Paris, TN, and Gary (Deena) Nance of Paris, TN; one sister in law, Bobbie Jean Nance of Paris, TN; seven grandchildren, Dustin Nance, Morgan Nance, Alli Nance, Jordan Nance, Kenzie Nance, Celia Nance, and Roy Nance; and one great grandchild, Delila Nance.
In addition to his parents, Billy was preceded in death by one sister, June Nance; and two brothers, Thomas Nance and Lynn Nance.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, TN where visitation will be on Monday, May 15, 2017 from 4 - 7 pm and continue on Tuesday from 9 - 10:30 am. There will be a graveside service at 11:00 am Tuesday, May 16, 2017, at Walker Cemetery in Paris, TN with Dale Gallimore and Gary Collier officiating.
Pallbearers will be Gary Nance, Kenny Nance, Frankie Nance, Dustin Nance, Keith Nance, Eric Nance, and Keith Fitzhugh. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Nichols, Joe Allen, Tony Nance, and Gary Barrett.
