Billie Frank "Bill" Moody

Billie Frank “Bill” Moody, age 85 of Puryear, TN, died Tuesday, October 16, 2018, at Camden Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center in Camden, TN.

He retired from Sears Roebuck Company in Paris after many years as a service technician.  He was a member and deacon of Puryear Baptist Church in Puryear.  Bill was a U.S. Army Korean War veteran.  He enjoyed woodworking and making brass candle holders.  Bill was a master of all trades and loved helping his neighbors and friends.

Bill was born May 22, 1933, in Murray, KY, to the late Aaron Gobel Moody and the late Julia Coy Moody.

He was married May 23, 1953, to Edna Irene Garland Moody, who survives, of Puryear, TN.

Along with his wife, he is also survived by one daughter, Patty Moody Kennedy of Puryear, TN; one son, Jeff (Jan) Moody of Puryear, TN; two sisters-in-law, Ella Moody of Murray, KY, and Maxine Jones of Murray, KY; five grandchildren, Jason Kennedy, Adam Kennedy, Angel Evitts, Julie Kennedy Jackson, and Jesse K. Moody; and seven great grandchildren, Jaden Ragsdale, Ian Kennedy, Preston Wiltrout, Owen Kennedy, Kennedy Grace Jackson, Aden Jackson, and Avery Evitts.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one son-in-law, Larry Kennedy; two sisters, Hilda Moody and Juanita Hargis; two brothers, Keys Moody and Robert Moody; and one great grandson, J.C. Thomas, “Jay” Kennedy.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, TN, where visitation will be Thursday, October 18, 2018, from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm, and continue Friday October 19, 2018, from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm at Puryear Baptist Church in Puryear, TN.  The funeral service will be Friday, October 19, 2018, at 1:00 pm at Puryear Baptist Church, with Bro. Mike Rhodes and Chad Kennedy officiating.

Burial will be in Puryear City Cemetery in Puryear, TN.

Serving as pallbearers will be Gene Schrader, Chris Garland, Tim Thurmond, Kevin Kennedy, Pat Jones, Jr., Tony Thurmond, Cullen Moody, and Preston Wiltrout.  Named as honorary pallbearers are Bill’s great grandchildren, the Puryear Baptist Church deacons, and John Harrison.
