Ray Flowers

Billie “Ray” Flowers, age 84 of Buchanan, TN, died Monday, September 18, 2023, at his residence.

He was a longtime mechanic for Bluegrass Auto Transport.  Ray was a member of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church in Buchanan where he sung and served as song leader for over 30 years.  He loved playing the guitar.

Ray was born March 15, 1939, in Cottage Grove, TN, to the late Herman Flowers and the late Bonnie Owen Long.

He was married August 10, 1970, to Nancy Roberts Flowers, who survives, of Buchanan, TN.

Along with his wife, he is also survived by four children, Teresa (Robert) Snider of Sebewaing, MI, Cindy McNutt of Buchanan, TN, Codee Caler of Buchanan, TN, and Greg (Felicia) Flowers of Camden, TN; three sisters, Ramona Bell of Paris, TN, Shirley Bennett of Springville, TN, and Diane Potts of Buchanan, TN; 15 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one son, Michael Flowers; one sister, Vernell Emerson; one brother, James Flowers; and two grandchildren, Michael Flowers and Megan Flowers.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street/PO Box 788, Paris, TN 38242.  Visitation will be Tuesday, September 19, 2023, from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home, and continue Wednesday, September 20, 2023, from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm.  The funeral service will be Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at 1:00 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home with Mike White officiating.  

Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.

Burial will be in Starks Cemetery in Buchanan, TN.
