Billy Owen “Bill” Harber, Sr, age 90 of Paris, died Monday October 31, 2016 at his residence.
Bill was a longtime member of First Baptist Church where he was a member of the Men’s Bible Class and served as a Deacon and had taught youth Sunday School. He was the co-owner of Butler and Harber Shoes in Paris from 1958 until his retirement in 1989. Bill was a man of God that loved his Church, family, children and grandchildren very much.
He was born April 3, 1926 in Friendship, TN, the son of the late William Jesse Harber and the late Willie Clendenin Harber.
Bill was married on November 29, 1945 to Hazel Butler Harber who survives of Paris, TN. He is also survived by one son, Bill (Kay) Harber Jr. of Paris, TN; two daughter-in-laws, JoAnn Harber of Paris, TN and Melanie Harber of Southaven, MS; one brother, Jess Harber Jr. of Melbourne, FL; 7 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild.
Besides his parents, Bill was also preceded in death by two sons, David Harber and Ron Harber; and brother, Bob Harber.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, TN, where visitation will be on Wednesday November 2, 2016 form 4 – 8 pm and Thursday November 3, 2016 from 11 am – 1 pm. The Funeral Service will be Thursday November 3, 2016 at 1:00 pm at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home with Dr. Trent Bullock officiating.
Pallbearers will be men from the Men’s Bible Class and the Friendship Sunday School Classes at First Baptist. Deacons of First Baptist Church are named as Honorary Pallbearers.
Interment will follow in Memorial Cemetery in Paris, TN.
