Betty Rose Summar Gordon

Betty Rose Summar Gordon, age 91 of Springville, TN, died Saturday, June 25, 2022, at her daughter’s residence in Springville.

She retired from Valencia Community College in Orlando, FL, and was a proud military wife.  Betty Rose was kind, Godly, thoughtful, witty, and humorous, even into her 90’s.  She loved with all she had and would sacrifice everything she had for those she cared for.  Her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were the center of her life.

Betty was born November 30, 1930, in Trenton, TN, to the late William Mannie Summar and the late Rosey Ray Summar.

She is survived by her two daughters, Cindy (Wade) Akin of Springville, TN, and Patty Marcum of Springville, TN; three grandchildren, Pamela Eskew, Michael Counihan, and Allen (Laura Beth) Marcum; five great grandchildren, Hailey Maddox, Riley Counihan, Summar Rose Eskew, Jacob Counihan, and Kasey Rae Hill; several nieces and nephews; and several great nieces and great nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by five sisters; and three brothers.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St/PO Box 788, Paris, TN 38242.  A memorial service will be Sunday, July 10, 2022, at 2:00 pm at Union United Methodist Church, 159 Bradford Highway, Trenton, TN 38382, with Tim & Carol Rogers officiating.
