Betty Johnson Patrick, age 84 of Tifton, GA, formerly of Paris, TN, died Monday, May 13, 2019, at Navicent Health Center in Macon, GA.
She graduated from Grove High School and continued to be a University of Tennessee girls basketball fan after moving to Georgia. In her early years she worked as a telephone operator, but her favorite role was as a homemaker. She also loved to play the piano, accordion, and guitar. She was an avid bridge player and taught the game for many years. Much of her life was centered around her church, Ridge Ave Church of Christ, where she taught toddlers Sunday School for many years and was affectionally known by the children as Bebe.
Betty was born October 25, 1934, in Paris, TN, to the late Ewing Johnson and the late Ethel Burnett Johnson.
She was married to her husband of 54 years, Robert O’Neal Patrick, who survives, of Tifton, GA.
Along with her husband, she is also survived by one daughter, Angie (Darron) Britt of Athens, GA; one son, Randall Patrick of Nashville, TN; one brother, Jimmie Johnson of Paris, TN; and two grandsons, Patrick Britt and Garrison Britt.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by one sister, Norma Tayloe
Out-of-town arrangements are being handled by Albritton Funeral Directors in Tifton, GA. Visitation will be Thursday, May 16, 2019, from 12:30 pm – 1:30 pm at Ridge Avenue Church of Christ, 1625 N. Ridge Avenue, Tifton, GA 31794.
Local arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, TN. A graveside service will be held Saturday, May 18, 2019, at 11:00 am at Van Dyke Grove Cemetery in Paris, TN.
Pallbearers will be John Paulk, Clint Guess, Patrick Britt, Garrison Britt, Roy Willis, Tim Warren, David Tanner and Bill Wiseman will serve as pallbearers.
Burial will follow the graveside service in Van Dyke Grove Cemetery in Paris, TN.
