Betty J. Hoyt, age 83 of Paris, TN, died Friday, October 2, 2020, at her residence.
She was co-founder of the Paw Patch in Paris with her daughter, and a long-time vet tech. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Paris. Betty loved horses, dogs, and her family. She enjoyed genealogy, collecting Indian artifacts, papers, and books.
Betty was born July 12, 1937, in Oaktown, IN, to the late William Jett Garner and the late Elida Leona Jones Garner.
She was married June 9, 1961, to Robert Edward Hoyt, who preceded her in death on July 19, 2010.
She is survived by three daughters, Peggy Cassoday of Paris, Doris (Billy) Ellis of Paris, and Terri Lynn Magtoto of Indianapolis, IN ; one sister, Juanita Walls of Petersburg, IN; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by one brother, Frank Garner.
Ridgeway Funeral Home 201 Dunlap St./ P.O. Box 788 Paris, TN 38242, will be handling the arrangements. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 6, 2020, from 4 until 6 pm, with the funeral service to follow at 6 pm in LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home with Marty Arnold and Joy Weathersbee officiating.
