Retired Henry County Health Department nursing director Bettye Jane Elliott, 73, of Buchanan died Friday, Sept. 27, 2013, at Weakley County Rehab and Nursing Center in Dresden.
She was married on Sept. 2, 1988, to Waymon Elliott, who survives.
Her body was cremated.
A memorial service is planned at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Ridgeway Funeral Home. Arthur Lodge will officiate.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 - 6 p.m. at Ridgeway Funeral Home
Born in Paris on Nov. 21, 1939, she was the daughter of Gordon D. and Robbye Hill Paschall.
A nursing graduate from the University of Tennessee at Martin, she worked at Henry County General Hospital for 10 years. She retired in 2005 after 26 years as nursing director of the Henry County Health Department. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Paris.
Besides her husband, she leaves one daughter: Lisa Gamlin (Mike) Beddies of Paris; two sons: Lane Gamlin of Paris and Lance Gamlin of Mount Juliet; one stepdaughter: Connie Harris of Martin; one stepson: Richard Elliott of Paris;
Four grandchildren: Ben Perry of Paris, Reese and Rhette Gamlin, both of Burbank, Calif., and Arianna Gamlin of Nashville; and two great-grandchildren: Isabella and Eva Perry, both of Paris.
